Dielectric carpets are important elements of a passive personal safety system when working with power grids and electrical equipment. Elementary concepts of handling electricity, as well as TB standards, prescribe the use of dielectric mats for any, at first glance, even the safest, work on electrical installations. Dielectric mats are manufactured in accordance with the requirements of GOST 4995-76. The products are capable of withstanding voltage over 20 kW and harsh operating conditions. Based on the operating conditions, dielectric mats are divided into two groups:

• Group I (suitable for use in dry rooms, at ambient temperatures from -15 °C to +40 ° C);
• Group II (oil and gas resistant; suitable for use in difficult operating conditions, in a wide temperature range from -50 ° C to +80 ° C).

Dielectric rubber mats must be used as additional means of electrical protection in dry closed and open electrical installations (1000V and above). Every employee working in a hazardous area is required to use an electrical insulation mat. Such mats should also be in all rooms with an increased risk of electric shock.
